Albany, NY, December 7, 2010 – The Institute for Clinical Pharmacodynamics (ICPD) today announced that its President,
Dr. Paul G. Ambrose, Pharm.D., FIDSA, was interviewed by Newsweek’s Jeneen Interlandi for an article published in the December 7, 2010 issue. The article, “Are We Running Out of Antibiotics?” discussed the need for a more dedicated focus on antibiotic research and development, including the some of the many hurdles that need to be overcome in the development of improved infectious disease therapies.
“Dr. Ambrose sees these obstacles clearly and has made important contributions to overcoming them,” commented Tom Parr, Chief Scientific Officer of Arpolex Pharmaceuticals. “New treatments for problematic bacterial infections are difficult to develop. Dr. Ambrose and his colleagues offer technologies that will both improve and advance the process of registering important new therapies. His comments in the recent Newsweek article help to illustrate both the problems and possible improved approaches to new solutions.”
“Dr. Ambrose has highlighted some of the problems facing the community while we work to develop improved therapies for infectious diseases,” remarked Dr. Parr. “His approach and technologies will clearly help us as we discover and develop badly needed improved antimicrobial agents for even more difficult to treat pathogens.”
The ICPD serves as a center for translational science collaboration to the world. We help pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies develop more effective and safer drugs through advanced methods of pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic system analysis. Our general contact information is as follows:
