Albany, NY, July 30, 2010 – ICPD announces that it will become a legal entity separate from Ordway Research Institute. Dr. Paul Davis, Director of Ordway Research Institute, commented, “This separation is a long-planned initiative that is warmly endorsed by Ordway Research Institute.” While better accommodating the collaborations with for-profit companies and the growth of ICPD, the separation will also permit certain collaborative ventures with Ordway Research Institute to continue. “This transition will be seamless for our colleagues in academia, industry and government with whom we collaborate” stated Dr. Paul Ambrose, President of ICPD. Operations, which have been based in Albany and Buffalo, will continue from both locations. Dr. Sujata Bhavnani, Vice President of ICPD, commented, “The application of pharmacodynamics has grown in all phases of drug development from discovery to confirmation of dose in Phase 2 and 3. It’s an exciting time to be involved with this discipline and to be able to help move the science forward.”
ICPD’s clients have expressed their congratulations for reaching this milestone. “This is wonderful news. We have worked with ICPD for several years on two of our drug development programs and look forward to continuing our working relationship. We are so happy to share in their success.” said Dr. Prabha Fernandes, President and CEO of Cempra Pharmaceuticals.
