Albany, NY, November 3, 2009 – Institute for Clinical Pharmacodynamics (ICPD) today announced the participation of its director,
Dr. Paul G. Ambrose, Pharm.D., FIDSA, as a temporary member of the
Anti-Infective Drugs Advisory Committee during a meeting held on
October 27, 2009. The advisory board met to discuss raxibacumab injection, manufactured by Human Genome Sciences, Inc., proposed for the treatment of inhalational anthrax disease. Dr. Ambrose’s role on the board was to discuss translational medicine and pharmacology in the context of anti-infective drugs for counterterrorism.
“The function of the advisory committee is to provide advice and recommendations to the agency,” stated Dr. Ambrose. “It is a privilege to be able to contribute to the well being of patients in this capacity.”
